Nobel Peace Prize

It has been awhile since my last blog, but I am eager to post my thoughts on the discussion going on in America concerning the award of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.
What does it say about Americans that we would question the decision by the Norweign Nobel Committee to award the Peace Prize to Barack Obama?
My first reaction after hearing the news was a sense of pride that my President was chosen. Proud to be an American again. But instead of happiness and pride, the American debate revolves around whether our President deserved to receive an award that we did not create and that we do not have a say in who is selected. What’s that about?
I understand the question about accomplishments, which even Obama aluded to in his remarks, but an independent Nobel Committee made their decision, let’s be happy. Would we have said that Chicago did not serve the 2012 Olympics if selected? Would we be debating the merits of another American city selected to host? Hell no! We’d rap ourselves in the American flag and be happy.
So America get over it and celebrate the international recognition of our President.

I too was proud that our president was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I was surprised that other Americans felt that President Obama did not deserve it. Thank goodness that those who did not agree, could not vote.
I am proud of our president!!!!!!!
